Ngarivhume Prefers Chamisa Over Reviving His Party
The leader of opposition Transform Zimbabwe, Jacob Ngarivhume, has said he would rather join forces with MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa than revive his own party.

Posting on Twitter, Ngarivhume suggested that Chamisa had more followers, therefore, it is rational to back him than trying to revive his Transform Zimbabwe. He said:

Some people are asking me to revive Transform Zimbabwe- the political party I lead. But I believe now is the (time) for a new kind of mature politics.
Nelson Chamisa leads the largest opposition party. By virtue of that, he deserves our support.
My hope is that the MDC-A’s leadership may begin to engage the people of Zimbabwe and guide the process for reforms working with regional and international partners to take head-on the abuses in our country.

The MDC-A is the voice of the people on the international stage and it’s time the world heard from us. #timetoact
His remarks come when the opposition in the country is in disarray ahead of the harmonised elections scheduled for 2023.
Political analysts say in its current state, the opposition will not be able to dislodge the ruling ZANU PF from power hence the need to merge and form a formidable force.
In 2017, a number of opposition political parties in the country coalesced to form the MDC Alliance which was for the purposes of taking power in 2018.
Members of the coalition say their candidate Nelson Chamisa triumphed against President Emmerson Mnangagwa further claiming that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, in connivance with ZANU PF, manipulated results.
The opposition was weakened mainly by the power crisis in the MDC which followed the demise of the party’s founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai who succumbed to cancer on 14 February 2018.
Chamisa leads one MDC faction (MDC Alliance) while the other is now being led by Douglas Mwonzora who subdued Thokozani Khupe at the recently held chaotic party Extraordinary Congress.
