In a statement, the MDC Alliance also expressed sorrow over the deaths of Ellen Gwaradzimba, a provincial minister, who died last week, and liberation war heroes Mukudzei Midzi and Morton Malianga. The statement reads:
We have learnt with sadness the passing on of Dr Gwaradzimba and Dr S.B. Moyo. Our party would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones and their political party Zanu PF.
Our sympathies are also with Cdes Mukudzei Midzi and Morton Malianga’s families, both Cdes are liberation war heroes who sacrificed everything to free our beloved country.
The pandemic that has ravaged the world with no discrimination is a challenge to all of us.
We call upon Zimbabweans to exercise great caution and abide by the World Health Organization guidelines on preventing further spread of the Coronavirus.
Wash your hands, wear a mask and practice social distancing.
