14 People Succumb To COVID-19 In Harare As 118 New Cases Are Recorded In The City

14 People from Harare reportedly succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday according to the Ministry of Health and Childcare. The ministry stated that 30 people die due to COVID-19 bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 713 since the first COVID-19 death was recorded on 23 March 2020.

The Ministry gave the following breakdown of yesterday’s COVID-19 deaths at provincial levels:

  • Bulawayo  – 3
  • Harare  – 14
  • Manicaland – 1
  • Mashonaland Central – 1
  • Mashonaland West – 4
  • Midlands – 3
  • Masvingo – 4

The Ministry also stated that 0 PCR tests were done in Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Manicaland, Masvingo, Matabeleland South, and Matabeleland North but 8, 0, 50, 25, 18, and 17 positive cases were recorded in the provinces. Harare remains the epicenter of the virus recording 118 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours.
