COVID-19 Vaccine Can't Come Soon Enough - Mathuthu

ZimLive editor, Mduduzi Mathuthu has said the vaccine for COVID-19 is needed in Zimbabwe as soon as yesterday.

Mathuthu’s remarks come at the backdrop of a recent surge in the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths countrywide.

Reports suggest that both private and public health institutions designated for the treatment of coronavirus patients have been pushed to the brink.

He posted a picture which features president Emmerson Mnangagwa and two late former government ministers, Ellen Gwaradzimba and Perrance Shiri and captioned:

The vaccine can’t come soon enough

The duo is said to have succumbed to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, there are mixed feelings with regards to the COVID-19 vaccines which are being developed in some developed countries.

The division over whether to take or not was triggered by conspiracy theories which say the vaccines are a weapon “white people” want to use to depopulate Africa.

Some say the vaccine is the mark of the Beast (666) prophesied to come at the end of times in Revelation in the Bible.

The theory has however been described as baseless with South African opposition leader, Julius Malema saying Africa would be without people if the “whites” wanted to depopulate it since almost everything consumed on the continent is made by white people.
