Simba SC Beats FC Platinum

Simba FC today beat PSL Champions FC Platinum 4 – 0 at a match played at Mkapa Stadium in Dar Es Salam in Tanzania this afternoon.

The game was marred with controversy after reports of Simba FC using fake COVID-19 tests results presented to FC Platinum 2 and a half hours before the match circulated on social media. Hope Chizuzu claims Simba FC played the same card with a Nigerian team a while ago:

The record books will show Simba SC won 4-0 at Mkapa Stadium in an afternoon that had marks of a crime movie shot on the Dar es Salaam beachfront – from faked COVID-19 tests results, a referee from Gabonese hell and a CAF boardroom case looming, but if this is how CAF Champions League mean to the Tanzanians, then there is a reason robbers attract more attention than pastors.

I have watched thousands of matches in my professional career but this controversy riddled match should serve as a wonderful lesson on Zimbabweans. FC Platinum played well in fits and starts and the Gabonese referee didn’t cover himself in glory with decisions straight from mafia manuals. I need not talk about first half penalty call….no, I will that to CAF match commissioner.

Tanzania media were laughing that the Zimbabweans were surprised about the Covid-19 results furore. They said they knew that was the card to be played by Simba. They tried it with Jos Plateau United of Nigeria and perfected it with FCP, who had just two hours to dispute and retest the players before the match.

The Nigerians had 48 hours and inside that they managed retests and two players turned negative and played. The Italian job done on FCP by the George Deda crew that included Calvin Mavhunga, who profiled every member of the Zimbabwean champions squad and technical information from Warriors coach, Loga, who would soon join Simba triumphed at the end.

CAF has not yet commented on the allegations that Simba FC played dirty tricks on FC Platinum.
