ZIFA Mourns Top Football Administrator Who Succumbed To COVID-19

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Central Region has expressed sorrow over the death of Gweru-based football administrator and businessman Philemon Mubata.

Mubata (53), succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday morning at a private hospital in the Midlands provincial capital.

In a statement, the ZIFA Central Region said Mubata’s contributions to football, his dedication and selfless service will never be forgotten. The statement read:

We were deeply saddened to learn of Mr Mubata’s untimely death. We would like to express our sincere condolence to the family, friends and partners on behalf of the Central Region Soccer League family.

Mr Mubata’s contributions to the football fraternity were full of dedication and selfless service.

The death of the Midlands sports administrator and miner from COVID-19 follows the deaths of many other prominent business figures that have been experienced in the country in recent days.
