The court resurrected MDC T Congress Secretary-General Douglas Mwonzora was declared the winner of the chaotic MDC T Court sanctioned congress, ZBC News reports.
According to the publication, the results which were released early this morning (Monday) showed Mwonzora polled 883 votes against Khupe’s 118, Elias Mudzuri had 14 votes while Morgen Komichi had just 9 votes.
Violence rocked the elections and Khupe said Mwonzora was suspended from the party and she declared the elections null and void before she was forced out of HICC.
A video of what looks like someone smacking Khupe as she was leaving the main HICC auditorium has been circulating on social media since yesterday.
It is still not clear if the outfit will accept Mwonzora’s victory or it will be overturned. We will update this article if new details emerge.
