The Jah Prayzah and Winky D’s Best of Both Worlds concert that was scheduled for the 18th of December was postponed, until further notice.
Without divulging the reason behind the decision to postpone the long-awaited concert, the organisers, Kayse Connect, said the had tried their best to ensure the event was a success. Said Kayse Connect:
We regret to advise that despite our efforts it has become impossible to proceed with the Jah Prayzah and Winky D, BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, PAY PER VIEW event as initially scheduled. We will update you on further details soon.
Jah Prayzah also posted on social media last night confirming the postponement. He said:
Today’s event has been postponed. We await to hear new dates from the organisers.
Commenting on the development, Leroy “Lee” Dzenga, a journalist and TV producer said the postponement has caused much pain as many people were looking forward to the show. Dzenga who is also a documentary director said:
A tale of regret, what was set to be an epic night has ended in what those liberal with the Victorian language would refer to as tears. We hope they regroup and reorganize.
The country needs this show. Our art sector needs it.
Dzenga had earlier posted:
The Winky D, Jah Prayzah concert slated for today is hanging in the balance as law enforcement is at the venue. It is yet to be ascertained whether the organiser had notified the police of their intentions as is the norm with such events.
The concert was premised at giving the audience a rare opportunity to watch the two great contemporary Zimbabwean musicians sharing the stage.
