Some Of Tapiwa Makore's DNA Results Out

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released some of the much-awaited DNA forensic results for the late Tapiwa Makore with a set of bones ruled out to be belonging to a human being, NewsDay reports.

Some of the body parts like the left palm have come out positive while the results on the skull are yet to be released.

This was confirmed by the Makore family’s lawyer Tabitha Chikeya.

Meanwhile, the Makore family staged a mini-demonstration at the High Court after the bail hearing of chief murder suspect, Thanks Makore was deferred on Monday morning. Chikeya said:

We had come with the family to hear the judgement of Thanks Makore, but we have just been told that the justice had not yet finished drafting the judgement, so the matter has been rolled over to the 18th of December.

Tapiwa’s mother, Linda Munyoro said the family cannot wait for the nightmare to end. She said:

DNA tests are delaying the burial. We were once told that they only take 21 days, but it’s now more than three months.

Tapiwa (7), was murdered on 17 September allegedly by his uncle, Tapiwa Makore senior and his herdsman Tafadzwa Shamba.

The duo allegedly carried out the suspected ritual murder at the behest of Tapiwa Makore Senior’s twin brother Thanks Makore who reportedly promised to pay US$1 500 for the boy’s body parts.
