PICTURES: MDC-A Builds House For "Murdered" Cllr's Family

Opposition MDC Alliance has said it is building a house for the family of Hurungwe Ward 4 Councillor, Lavender Chiwaya who was allegedly murdered earlier this year.

The party says at the time Chiwaya was murdered, the house was at the foundation level. Posting on Twitter on Friday, the party said:

Here in Hurungwe, we are building a house for the family of our murdered ward4 Cllr Lovender Chiwaya. At the time of his murderer, the house was at foundation level. The pic collage show progress as of today

Chiwaya was reportedly abducted at night by suspected state security agents only his body to be found naked 4 houses away from his home.

MDC Alliance said Chiwaya had been stalked by suspected State agents for some days before the fateful night and believe that he was strangled to death and his body dumped.

However, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) disputed the MDC A narrative saying Chiwaya could have died as a resulting of consuming an illicit drug, “kranco.”
