PSG Versus Istanbul Basaksehir Match To Resume In The 14th Minute Tonight

Last night’s Champions League game between Paris St-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir will resume today from the 14th minute.

The match was abandoned on Tuesday night with a match official accused of using a racist term towards one of the away side’s backroom staff.

Istanbul allege fourth official Sebastian Coltescu used the language towards their assistant coach Pierre Webo, a former Cameroon international.

Webo was shown a red card in the exchange on the touchline just 14 minutes into the Group H tie, which was still goalless. In a statement, Uefa said:

Uefa has – after discussion with both clubs – decided on an exceptional basis to have the remaining minutes of the match played tomorrow with a new team of match officials.

A thorough investigation of the incident that took place will be opened immediately.

The match will recommence this Wednesday from the 14th minute. Kick-off will be at 17:55 GMT.

A new set of officials will be in charge, with Dutchman Danny Makkelie appointed referee.

Makkelie will be assisted by compatriot Mario Diks and Marcin Boniek of Poland, with another Pole, Bartosch Frankowsky, named the fourth official.

In another Group H match played last night, RasenBallsport Leipzig e.V., commonly known as RB Leipzig, beat Manchester United 3-2, which means the latter drops to the Uefa Europa League.
