Notorious Armed Robbers Nabbed After Gunfight With Cops

Police in Beitbridge on Monday arrested two suspected armed robbers, Admire Songora popularly known as Pele Pele, and Brian Moto also popularly known as Bruda, after a brief exchange of gunfire.

The two were arrested soon after they had robbed a female border jumper of R15 000 near the PaGomo Lodge. In a post on their Twitter page, Beitbridge police said:

The two notorious robbers have been terrorising Beitbridge residents and have been robbing, assaulting and raping women, especially those illegally crossing the border.

They were arrested yesterday evening after robbing a woman at PaGomo Lodge of R15 000. She was on her way to South Africa.

In another development, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said a Harare man was robbed of US$500, several phones and foodstuffs by armed robbers who stormed his Tynwald North home on Saturday morning. Police said in a post on Twitter:

On 05/12/20 at about 0001 hours, a Harare man lost US$500 cash, Nokia cell-phone, Techno cell-phone, Samsung cell-phone, Lenovo cell-phone, car keys, 2×25 kgs rice, 5 dressed chickens, and fish to armed robbers in Tynwald North.

Unknown men, armed with an unidentified pistol and iron bars stormed his house before demanding cash and valuable property. Investigations are in progress.
