COSAFA U20 Championship: Zimbabwe, South Africa In 4-goal Thriller

Zimbabwe’s Young Warriors began their COSAFA U20 Championship with a 2-2 draw against Amajita of South Africa on Thursday afternoon.

Zimbabwe drew first blood through Panashe Mutimbanyoka who opened the scoring after just eight minutes into the first stanza.

South Africa were unable to find a reply in the opening 45 minutes, but they were back on level terms shortly after the halftime break through SuperSport United attacker Oswin Appollis’ finish.

It was Zimbabwe who got the next goal eight minutes later courtesy of a strike from Lexington Mujokoro.

Amajita, however, got an equaliser in second-half stoppage time, with Mohlala Makola getting the important goal.
