Suspected Zanu PF Activists Disrupt Biti's State Of The Economy Address

A group of people alleged to belong to the Citizens Forum, a lobby group linked to Zanu PF yesterday reportedly caused drama at the SAPES Trust where MDC Vice President Tendai Biti was giving his State Of The Economy address, New Zimbabwe reports.

Biti who had been invited as a guest at SAPES Trust was reportedly a few minutes into his address when the suspected Zanu PF activists heckled him and started asking why he has asked for sanctions on Zimbabwe.

An activist who was reportedly holding a placard written ZIDERA Singing For Your Supper said this to Biti:

I am a citizen of Zimbabwe and I want to know why Biti called for imposition of sanctions. He is also talking about a coup in which he partook. I have a legal right to ask questions. This my country. I have the legal right to ask Mr Biti.

The group was escorted out and Biti continued with his address. However the publication said when the question and answer time came, one activist reportedly struggled to ask a question they seemed to be reading from WhatsApp.

The same group of Zanu PF Activists is believed to be behind the heckling of Shingi Munyeza a few months ago as he was delivering his speech at a business forum meeting and disrupting the launch of Jonathan Moyo’s book Excelgate at the same venue sometime early this year.
