De Jongh Vows To Bounce Back After FC Platinum Sacking

Former FC Platinum coach Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh has declared that he will be back in Zimbabwean football despite the setback which saw him being shown the exit door by the platinum miners.

The Dutchman was fired on Friday by the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions after he was barred by CAF for not having a CAF A coaching license.

The licence is a pre-requisite for one to sit on the bench in the continental governing body’s inter-club competitions.

Posting on microblogging site Twitter, de Jongh, who was replaced by the returning Norman Mapeza, vowed to bounce back despite the hitch. He wrote:

FOOTBALL IS A CRAZY GAME! Would like to thank every football stakeholders including FC Platinum supporters and Bosso fans. The champ will be back.

Responding to one of his followers who had suggested that De Jongh wanted to coach in the Champions League using a Dutch passport, he said, “A UEFA international license is 100 times better than a CAF A”.
