WATCH: Uganda Opposition Leader Bobi Wine Arrested

Bobi Wine who leads Uganda’s main opposition, National Unity Platform (NUP) party, was this week arrested moments after registering his intention to contest in that country’s presidential election pencilled for January 14 next year.

Protests ensued and about 37 people have already died as police clashed with the masses who are demanding the release of the popular musician.

Wine, real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, intends to challenge the incumbent president, Yoweri Museveni, 76, who aims to extend his rule to at least 40 years.

United Nations Secretary-General Spokesperson, Stephan Dujarric condemned the violence in Uganda adding that protesters have a right to demonstrate.
