Rushwaya Denied Bail, Ali Out On $100 000 Bail

Suspended Zimbabwe Miners Federation president Henrietta Rushwaya has been denied bail by Harare magistrate Ngoni Nduna.

Rushwaya’s alleged accomplices in a foiled gold-smuggling case, Stephen Tserayi, Raphios Mufandauya and Gift Karanda have also been denied bail by the same magistrate.

Nduna ruled that the quartet have connections outside the country and have means to abscond trial and there was a high risk of them interfering with investigations.

They were all remanded to November 27 for their routine remand.

Meanwhile, Ali Muhammad, who was also implicated in the attempted 6kg gold heist, has been freed on $100 000.
