Rescuers Reach Task Miners Trapped Since September

Rescuers have reached bodies of the five miners who were trapped at Task Mine in Chegutu when the shaft collapsed on the 8th of September this year.

The development was confirmed by the development Task Mine Syndicate (Pvt) Ltd chairman Mr Masviba who expressed sadness over the loss of the miners. Masviba said:

We are glad that team efforts have finally paid off. Although we are sad to have lost colleagues, we are happy families will find closure.

Sources who spoke to the media a day after the incident said there were signs of life as they could hear movement underground.

The rescue mission was being hampered by the absence of underground plans and the rescuers needed to do a proper ground survey to carry out the rescue mission.
