The United States of America has reiterated that Zimbabwe is in a sorry state because of corruption and not sanctions as claimed by the ruling ZANU PF. The US Embassy in Harare cited Zimbabwe’s Speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda who recently claimed that the country had lost about US$7 billion through underhand dealings. The Embassy said the missing money could have paid workers for the next ten years, gone a long way in reviving the economy and refurbishing infrastructure in the country.
