Criminals From South Africa Behind The Spike In Violent Crimes - Mangwana
The Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Ministry’s permanent secretary has said the swath of robberies that are being reported in many parts of the country are probably being committed by the criminals Zimbabwe had to accept from South Africa during the lockdown.
Using the microblogging site Twitter Mangwana said:
During Lockdown we had no option but accept over 500 hardcore criminals who were detained at Lindela Holding Facilities in South Africa because they were our citizens. The consequence is a spike in violent crime in our country but our Security Forces are up to the task.
FeedbackThis came amid reports that armed robberies are on the rise in Zimbabwe. Meanwhile ZRP in Beitbridge yesterday gunned down a robber in who is believed to be part of a notorious gang that was led by Mussa Abdul who was arrested in August in Beitbridge.
