JUST IN: Parly Nullifies SI 225A Of 2020 Which Bans By-Elections

The Parliament Of Zimbabwe has nullified SI 225A of 2020 which was used by the Health Ministry to ban all pending by-elections  The matter came to light on Twitter after Pedzisayi Ruhanya Tweeted that:

#BREAKING: The speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda has announced that SI 225A/2020, effected to ban by-elections by Gen Chiwenga, has been declared unconstitutional by the Parliamentary Legal Committee. These are clear contradictions by ZANU PF. How do you ban elections!!

Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda’s announcement that SI 225A/2020, effected to ban by-elections by Gen Chiwenga, has been declared unconstitutional by the Parliamentary Legal Committee doesn’t mean there is rule of law in Zimbabwe. We must dig deeper and avoid being naive!
