Top Army Officer Sambulo Ndlovu Succumbs To COVID-19

A retired army official Brigadier-General Sambulo Ndlovu, has died, The Herald reports. The Brigadier General succumbed to COVID-19 at Parirenytwa Group of Hospitals yesterday.

His death was confirmed to the publication by Zimbabwe National Army Commander Lieutenant-General Edzai Absalom Chanyuka Chimonyo.

According to the Zimbabwe National Army, Sambulo Ndlovu’s burial will be carried out according to the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 guidelines and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.

Ndlovu survived by his wife Sarah and 6 children:

  1. Nguquko
  2. Vezubule
  3. Prince Majaha
  4. Thobekile
  5. Lindiwe
  6. Sithulisiwe

Ndlovu’s death came a few short days after the burial of another top army officer Rhufus Chigudu who succumbed to an undisclosed illness on 24 September 2020 and was buried at the heroes acre.
