ZNA Deploys More "Terror" Soldiers To Vic Falls' Chisuma Village

Zimbabwe National Army, (ZNA) has reportedly deployed more soldiers to Chisuma Village in Victoria Falls following last week’s incident in which 2 drunk soldiers shot and killed civilians after a violent clash at Chisuma Business Center. New Zimbabwe reports.

The killer soldiers were arrested and appeared before the court, however, ZNA has reportedly deployed more soldiers to the area and the soldiers have reportedly imposed a virtual curfew in the area and villagers are now afraid to roam the area freely especially at night.

Villagers reportedly gathered at the place the 2 villagers were shot by the soldiers and vowed to block ZNA officers from attending the funeral. One villager reportedly said:

We don’t want to see the soldiers at the funeral. In fact, they should leave the area. We are shocked that they didn’t waste time to replace the two who were arrested as a truck came to drop others a few days ago

Chief Mvutu however urged villagers to calm down and said:

I know that we are angry but let’s calm down. That is why we are here for this meeting so we handle the issue well.

The MP of the area also addressed the villagers and expressed his disappointment in the conduct of the soldiers and said:

I am very disappointed. I came to this place and saw traces of blood. The trigger pulled for nothing, the soldiers killed our brothers, the victims who were innocent. Yes, we have to protect the image of the country but that doesn’t mean we have to kill our people.
