WATCH: Joana Mamombe Goes To Jail

MDC Alliance MP Joanna Mamombe was today taken into custody where she will be examined by 2 government doctors to determine her fitness to stand trial after her lawyers said she is unwell to stand trial. Today a Harare Magistrate Mrs Bianca Makwande ordered Mamombe’s examination by two neutral doctors to be conducted while she is in the care of Harare Remand Prison authorities.

Mamombe was abducted in May and was arrested for faking an abduction thereafter. ZBC published a documentary that alleged that Mamombe and Netsai Marowa and Cecilia Chepiri faked their abductions. Her trial at Harare Magistrate started but her lawyers are saying she is unwell to stand trial. The state is claiming that Mamombe is not sick and they applied for her to be examined by 2 government doctors.
