Fear Of A Second Wave Of COVID-19 Surge As The World Sees Record New Weekly Case

Cases of COVID-19 reached a seven day all-time high last week as the world recorded close to 2 million new cases, eNCA reports. This was revealed by the World Health Organisation which stated that:

During the week ending on 20 September, 1,998,897 new cases of the novel coronavirus were registered around the world.

That marks a six percent increase over a week earlier and the highest number of reported cases in a single week since the beginning of the epidemic

A tally by American publication, AFP says the pandemic has infected 31 million people globally and over 960 000 deaths were recorded worldwide. while Africa has recorded a 12% drop in fresh cases from a week earlier. On a positive note, despite the resurgence of new cases in America and Europe, the number of new deaths is going down.
