President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday met with church leaders including Bishops from the Catholics Bishops Confrence his government attacked last month after they urged him to fix the economy and allow freedom of expression, Newsday reports.

This was revealed by the President himself as he was speaking just before a Politburo meeting when he said:

This morning, I was pleased to receive a delegation of Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations which comprised the leadership of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, Catholic Bishops Conference, Zimbabwe Council of Churches and the indigenous churches,

Mnangagwa said it was imperative for the society to dialogue and he said it was the nature of his administration to encourage dialogue:

Dialogue must be encouraged throughout all sections of society. This is the culture of the second republic, of nation building, of peace, unity and love as we develop the Zimbabwe we all want.

The President has invited Nelson Chamisa his top political opponent to his Political Actors’ Dialogue(POLAD) and made it clear there will be no any other dialogue outside POLAD.
