Sikhala Bail Hearing Postponed Amid Reports That Magistrates Declined To Sign Docket
Job Sikhala’s bail appeal at the High Court reportedly failed to kick off because magistrates at the lower courts refused to sign the docket to release the case because it is too long, New Zimbabwe reports.
This was released by one of Sikhla’s lawyers Jeremiah Bhamu who spoke to the publication and said:
The appellant’s record could not be availed as there was no magistrate willing to sign it since Magistrate Ncube who presides over the case is on leave.
FeedbackEven the chief magistrate, Munamato Mutevedzi refused to go over the record reasoning that it was too long and therefore, he did not sign it.
High Court Judge Justice Ndewere has since ordered Magistrate Ncube to come back from his vacation and sign the document or Chief Magistrate Munamato Mutevedzi to sign it.
