According to journalist Brezh Malaba, the unknown assailants that fatally shot a soldier in Chivhu and critically injured another one used a pistol to commit the crime before running away with the soldiers’ rifles and magazines with 120 bullets. The gunmen reportedly hit the unfortunate soldier 3 times and also hit the critically ill soldier thrice.
Malaba posted the update on his twitter in a tweet that reads:
The soldier who was shot dead in Chivhu today was hit 3 times, with one bullet striking the nose and perforating his head. The assailant used a pistol. The other soldier was also hit thrice and his condition is described as critical. The 2 unknown assailants are still at large. The assailants ran off with the soldiers’ two AK47 rifles and 4 magazines with 30 bullets each.
The incident occurred in Chivhu yesterday and a video of part of the incident is circulating on social media. The Government is yet to give a full statement on the incident.
