Govt Mulls Re-Opening Airports

The government of Zimbabwe is reportedly finalising the modalities that will see airports re-opening after 5 months in a bid to boost tourism, The Herald reports.

The matter came to light in yesterday’s post-cabinet briefing. According to the publication:

The Government is finalising on modalities for the re-opening of airports to support the resumption of the tourism sector. The plan is to start with the resumption of domestic flights and then move to international flights.  Cabinet approved the resumption of the rest of tourism operations, including boat operations.

Other countries like Kenya and Tanzania have resumed international flights while South Africa has reopened domestic flights after close to 5 months in lockdown.
