The tweet announcing Chadwick Boseman’s death has become the most liked tweet on Twitter ever since Barack Obama’s 2017 tweet garnered 4.3 Million likes, Chicago Tribune reports.

The tweet which announced the Black Panther actor’s death garnered 6.8 Million likes and 3 Million retweets since it was posted yesterday.

Twitter confirmed that the tweet posted on the late Boseman’s account yesterday was the most liked Tweet ever

According to the publication, prior to Chadwick Boseman’s death Tweet, Obama’s tweet on 17 August 2017 had been the most liked tweet:

Previously, the most-liked tweet on Twitter was from former President Barack Obama, who shared the Nelson Mandela quote, “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.” The tweet was posted on Aug. 12, 2017, the same day as the deadly Charlottesville, Va., car attack at a protest against white supremacists.
