Suspected Zanu PF Members Block Shingi Munyeza From Addressing A Public Meeting

Suspected Zanu PF members reportedly blocked clergyman and a member of the President’s Advisory Council (PAC) Shingi Munyeza from addressing a public meeting in Harare, Newsday reports.

According to the publication, the group that ran Munyeza off stage at the meeting first approached him and demanded to know why he was friends with Temba Mliswa, and then proceeded to say they wanted him to pay them for managing his social media accounts.

Munyeza reportedly dared them to produce evidence that they run his accounts and they continued to harass him till they forced him off the meeting.

Speaking about the incident to the publication, Munyeza reportedly bashed the youths that harassed him and said:

I call it an occult system and it is an orchestrated move to try and muzzle me. It is an orchestrated move to try and raise fear and to take away my own freedoms and right.

I will not relent, I am not deterred, I remain resolute. This country is being run by a rogue system. What people have not realised is what I have been saying. There is no respect for freedoms, there is no respect for rights so today was such a day where I was stopped from addressing a gathering that was apolitical. I am very fully aware of it, I am cognisant of it but it is what it is, we have a rogue system.

Munyeza who has been dared to resign from being a member of the President’s advisory council has been a fierce second republic critic over the last few months. Munyeza also makes use of his social media accounts to point out the ills bedevilling the country and call on the government to fix the economy.
