'Law And Order Shall Prevail', Charamba Warns Would-be Protestors

The Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet (Presidential Communications), George Charamba, has threatened more arrests of would-be protesters.

This follows a demonstration staged by a group of youths who protested against MDC Alliance vice national Job Sikhala’s arrest at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Charamba posted on Twitter:

The level of propaganda deceit is just appalling. The good thing is there is a clear resolve to end this nonsense once and for all. Hazvichazoitike zvakare (it will never happen) in this country. We shall be a law and order people, whoever thinks they can stand behind goons. Zvinotopwa gore rino (it will end this year).

At least two of the youths were arrested and a video of baton-wielding police officers bashing another youth went viral on social media.

Government apologists on social media accused the youths of drunkenness and of provoking police officers who were stationed at the Rotten Row Magistrates Court.
