Save Valley Conservancy Receives US$50k Grant
Save Valley Conservancy (SVC), one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa, was awarded a US$50 000 grant through Tusk Trust towards their anti-poaching efforts.
The grant came at a time when the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has restricted travel around the world, has cut off the funding stream for wildlife protection.
An official at the conservancy revealed that a Wildlife Rangers Challenge is set to be staged on October 3, 2020, to raise more funds.
The first-phase emergency funding received from Tusk Trust will be used to provide critical resources to maintain the rangers in the field.
Bryce Clemence, head of Anti-Poaching and Tracking Specialists (ATS) for the rangers, said:
