Harare City Council’s Town Planner Suspended

Harare City Council’s Town Planner has been suspended over his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of land saga that has seen dozens of the local authority’s officials arrested and dragged to court.

The suspension of the planner, Samuel Nyabeza, was announced by a letter written by Harare City Council (HCC) director of works only identified as Chawatama. The letter reads:

Your suspension follows serious allegations that you breached Clause 10.5 (t) of the Code which provides for Conduct Inconsistent in that you were allegedly involved in a questionable transaction regarding lot 2 of subdivion B of subdivision A of Willovale.

Meanwhile you advised not to interfere with these processes by visiting your workplace or council premises..

Zim Morning Post contacted Nyabezi for comment but he could neither deny nor confirm that he has been suspended saying he was not in a position to comment on such issues.
