Kwekwe Pyramid Scheme BC Crumbles - Report

A pyramid scheme that was based in the Midlands town of Kwekwe named BC reportedly crushed and left subscribers counting their loses, New Ziana reports.

The scheme which was reportedly being operated in Kwekwe’s light industry area reportedly just closed its doors and posted a public notice that notified its subscribers that the COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings has forced them to close.

The notice posted by the scheme that was operating at 967 Parsons Street in Kwekwe reads:

We are currently facing problems with Health officials regarding gathering people during this Covid-19 pandemic. Those with accounts maturing on the 17th of August going forward will be issued with new collection dates and times via SMS. Reimbursements will be done over the phone to avoid crowding. We apologize for any inconvenience caused

According to people who spoke to the publication about the scheme, the company was accepting a minimum deposit of US$100 and each investor would pay an administration fee of US$10 for the first US$1 000 and they were promised to get a 50% interest in 6 weeks.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko said they had not received a report from any dupped BC subscribers as yet:

We have not received any report about the issue but people should not invest their money in illegal pyramid schemes
