UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Manchester City Beat Real Madrid To Advance To Quarterfinals

Manchester City have beaten Real Madrid 2-1 in the Uefa Champions League last 16 second leg match played behind closed doors at Etihad on Friday night.

The Blues proceeded to quarterfinals on 4-2 aggregate.

Gabriel Jesus made it 2-1 for City after Varane made another howler. Varane missed the initial header and was then short with his attempted headed pass back to Courtois.

The Brazilian international, Jesus intercepted and beat Courtois from the angle with a fine finish to surely seal a quarter-final spot for City with a 4-2 aggregate.

In another match played tonight, Lyon lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus 2-1 but proceeded to quarterfinals on 2-2 aggregate. Ronaldo scored both goals for Turin.

Meanwhile, Lyon were without Zimbabwean striker Tinotenda Kadewere who has been training with the team for a month now.
