Almost 40 out of 60 workers at the state-owned pharmaceutical company National Pharmaceutical Company of Zimbabwe (Natpharm) have reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.
The development was announced by Zimbabwean journalist, Brezh Malaba who posted on Twitter this Thursday saying:
Covid-19 has hit the state-owned pharmaceutical company NatPharm, with almost 40 out of 60 workers testing positive.
The development prompted to say testing of employees should be intensified while others said employers should invest in the welfare of their workers.
The saddening news may be confirmation of reports which suggest that frontline workers are greatly exposed to the coronavirus as they work with inadequate equipment.
