SuperSport To Launch A New Channel Line-Up
Supersport has decided to give sports a new dedicated home by dropping the numbering system it was using for its channels for over 2 decades and replacing it channels themed around individual sports. This was revealed by Supersport on their website in an article that states that:
Starting the first of next month, the following will have their own dedicated channels: the PSL, the Premier League, La Liga, rugby, cricket, golf, tennis, motorsport etc.
Speaking about the development, Supersport CEO Gideon Khobane said:
This is a landmark decision in SuperSport’s history and one we are convinced will add a fresh and invigorating dimension to our broadcasts. The changes will mean that additional SuperSport channels of local and international sporting content will be added to the DStv package. Genre channelling will no doubt increase awareness of a broader range of content, which may have always been on the platform, but wasn’t necessarily easy to discover. This signals a radical change designed to make content discovery more seamless.
Meanwhile, DSTV recently announced that they had partnered with ESPN to bring more entertainment for their readers.
