MSU Postpones Final Year Exams Due To Coronavirus

The Midlands State University (MSU) has deferred examinations for final year students who were set to start writing on Monday, 3 August 2020, due to the increasing cases of coronavirus in the country.

The move has negatively affected final semester students in the faculties of Science and Technology, Law, Education and Natural Resources Management and Agriculture who were scheduled to start their examinations on August 3.

MSU Registrar Tinashe Zishiri said they had no option but to postpone the examinations to a later date due to increasing coronavirus cases.

On 24 July, Higher and Tertiary Education permanent secretary Professor Fanuel Tagwira announced that all tertiary institutions would suspend face to face lessons and focus on e-learning in a move aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

As of July 31, Zimbabwe had recorded 3 169 confirmed coronavirus cases, 1 004 recoveries and 67 deaths.
