Trump Suggests The Suspension Of U.S. Elections Saying They Will Be "Inaccurate And Fraudulent"

The United States President Donald Trump has suggested that the elections scheduled for this year be suspended until people can properly, securely and safely vote.

His remarks come when the U.S., with over 4.5 million coronavirus cases has the highest number of confirmed cases and COVID-19 deaths in the world. Posting on Twitter, Trump said:

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

The latest poll shows that Trump is currently trailing Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden by several points in Florida, Michigan and Arizona — key states to win the 2020 election.

Trump’s bid to retain power is being hamstrung by a number of issues including his strategy in the handling of the coronavirus and the worsening socio-economic crisis.

There are less than 100 days before the election.
