Mutodi Withdraws Theft Case ‘Due To Personal Circumstances’

Fired Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services and Goromonzi West MP, Energy Mutodi, has withdrawn a case which was before a Harare magistrate.

Mutodi filed an affidavit before magistrate Mr Sheunesu Matowa indicating that he had decided to withdraw thefts charges against four men who allegedly stole his designer suits.

The suspected thieves – two brothers Denver and Cosmos Zvomuya, Fidelis Martin Mandaza and Pardon Magombo – were arrested after they allegedly broke into Mutodi’s Borrowdale residence in Harare and stole valuables, including 30 pairs of designer suits.

In withdrawing the case which was before magistrate Matowa, Mutodi said he had decided to withdraw the matter due to personal circumstances.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa fired Mutodi in May after he had used Twitter to mock then hospitalised three female MDC Alliance activists, calling them pr_stitutes who were bashed by their lovers after they demanded to be paid in foreign currency for their services.

Harare West MP Joanah Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova were abducted, tortured and s_xually assaulted after taking part in an anti-government demonstration in Warren Park, Harare.
