WATCH: “Young, Fluent” Jacob Zuma Speaks On Why Mugabe, Nkomo Agreed To Lancaster Terms

In the videos below, a visibly young former South African president Jacob Zuma, has added his voice on the issues that compelled Zimbabwe’s freedom fighters to agree to “unfavourable” terms of the Lancaster House talks that preceded the independence of 1980.

Zuma claims that frontline states that have been harbouring Zimbabwean guerilla fighters said if the fighters intended to continue with the struggle, they were to fight from elsewhere as the host countries were suffering as a result of accommodating them.

The settler Smith regime was bombing countries where the fighters were encamped. For instance, the Smith fighters carried out bombings in Mozambique’s Chimoio in Manica province, killing civilians in the process.
