Another SA Minister Tests Positive For Coronavirus

South Africa’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ebrahim Patel on Saturday received his results for coronavirus tests which showed that he was positive.

The development comes barely days after two of that country’s cabinet ministers had been admitted to hospital after contracting coronavirus. Cabinet said in a statement:

Minister Patel is in good spirits and is in self-quarantine, and will continue to work from home. Those that have been in contact with the minister are also in self-isolation and have been encouraged to get tested.

This comes when the number of confirmed cases in South Africa has risen to 434 200 including 6 655 deaths.

South Africa has the highest numbers of diagnosed infections in Africa and is among the worst affected globally.
