A Victoria Falls woman has been accused of pimping her 15-year-old stepdaughter who is now almost five months pregnant.
Pimping is the action or practice of controlling pr_stitutes and arranging clients for them, taking part of their earnings in return.
The Form Two girl made the revelations during the trial of her 29-year-old boyfriend, Evermore Ndlovu, who was charged with having extra-marital s_xual intercourse with a young person.
In Zimbabwe, juveniles less than 16 years are at law unable to consent to s_x.
The girl told the court that her stepmother would on several occasions send her to Ndlovu’s home to ask for money to buy bread.
She said she ended up falling in love with Ndlovu and the two had s_xual intercourse several times between November and February this year when she discovered she was pregnant.
Ndlovu would give the girl cash to give to her stepmother, and sent some of the money through EcoCash after they had consensual s_x.
The juvenile claimed that her stepmother became angry when she told her about the pregnancy and accused her of being careless yet she had only told her “to spend the man’s money.”
The woman has not been charged with any offence as no formal report has been made against her.
Victoria Falls magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa sentenced Ndlovu to 18 months in jail, but six months were suspended for five years on condition that he does not within that period have s_xual intercourse with a young person.
