Parirenyatwa Hospital Temporarily Closes Casualty Department

Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals temporarily closed its Casualty Department this Friday for routine fumigation, the hospital said in a statement.

The hospital will be closed from 12 pm to 4 pm today, thereafter, only emergencies will continue to be attended. The statement read:

Please be informed that our Accident and Emergency Department (Casualty) is temporarily closed for routine fumigation from 12 pm to 4 pm today the 24th of July 2020.

Thereafter, only emergencies will continue to be attended to given the current
circumstances.

Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.

  1. ‘the current circumstances’ are the sudden high number of Covid cases, due entirely to the lack of PPI equipment, the non-interest for the pandemic by Govt, and the total disregard by the Zim population at large who totally and flatly refuse to practice social distancing. However, the stringent lockdown, the curfew and the excess deployment of troops and police in the townships have absolutely nothing to do with Covid – it has everything to do with forthcoming demonstrations due next Friday. The current ’emergency/pandemic law’ is used exclusively to put armed troops and police on the ground without going through Parliament.
