Man Collecting "Fees" From Motorists Bypassing A ZINARA Tollgate Along The Mutare-Masvingo Highway - Report
ZINARA is reportedly losing potential revenue because motorists using the Mutare Masvingo Highway are allegedly using an illegal bypass which passes through a field on one of the tollgates, The Herald reports.
According to the publication, a man is reportedly collecting fees from motorists using the illegal bypass which is below the gazetted ZINARA toll fees.
When parliamentarians visited the illegal bypass, the man reportedly denied them entry and said they were trespassing:
This is my farm and you do not have a right to enter the premises, I am now calling the Lands Commissioner.
Head of the Parliamentary Portfolio that is investigating the matter Shurugwi North MP Robson Nyathi said they will escalate the issue to ensure it is resolved:
