China Donates 30K COVID-19 Testing Kits To Zimbabwe
The Chinese government has donated 30 000 coronavirus testing kits to Zimbabwe amid reports that the country’s fight against the novel virus is being hamstrung by the shortage of equipment.
The consignment which was received by President Mnangagwa included 220 000 surgical masks, 40 000 medical gloves, among other personal protective equipment.
This adds up to a total of more than 1 million masks, 51 000 testing kits, and 140 pieces of other PPES donated by China so far.
In the absence of a vaccine, health authorities urge people to take precautionary measures including maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks and exercising personal hygiene to prevent the spread and transmission of the virus.
