ZAPU INFIGHTING: Bulawayo Provincial Executive Recalled Ahead Of Congress

Opposition ZAPU has recalled its Bulawayo provincial executive amid reports that the party once led by the late former Vice President Joshua Nkomo is submerged under a fierce intraparty conflict.

This comes ahead of the party’s elective congress scheduled for the October to replace its departed liberation war stalwart Dumiso Dabengwa, who passed on in May 2019.

Notice of recall addressed to Twala and copied to Mbayiwa and Muhlwa suggested that the duo was not performing its duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The notice read:

The reasons for relieving you of your duties are non-performance, which has resulted in our province being the worst performing nationally.

When we raised the issue of the state of our province, you clearly indicated that you were financially incapacitated to act and would only act when the party availed the resources. Cdes, the range of ICT tools available today have the capacity to bring you to the people.

The notice reminded that grassroots were “the most important” thing in the political field without which the party would cease to exist.

Meanwhile, the two dismissed the recalls saying those who purportedly recalled them did not follow due process.
