November ZIMSEC Exams Fate Uncertain For Now - Mathema

It is still unclear if the 2020 ZIMSEC candidates will sit for their final examinations as the primary and secondary education minister Cain Mathema said, COVID-19 is still not contained and he doesn’t know if schooling will resume, ZBC News reports.

Mathema was responding to questions in parliament when he said the government will continue to monitor the situation and they will be guided by the situation at hand to make a decision about the exams:

The issue of writing exams is so far not known; it depends on COVID-19 cases. As you are aware cases of the COVID-19 Pandemic are spiking.

Earlier this week the government deferred reopening schools which was scheduled for the 28th of July for the writing classes. Zimbabwe has recorded 1089 COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths as of yesterday.
