Transport Minister Announces New National Handling Services Board 

The minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Joel Biggie Matiza on Friday announced a new National Handling Services (NHS) board which he said was confident will contribute significantly to NHS.

The new board starts work this Monday taking over from the outgoing one that was appointed in 2012.

The board will be chaired by Mr Franklin Mukarakate founder and executive chairman of Corner Stone Group Africa, an investment company. Other board members are:

  1. Mr Gideon Mukorombindo,
  2. Ms Lynn Mukonoweshuro,
  3. Mr Christopher Dube and
  4. Mr Douglas Khoza.

Two other female members of the board will be announced in due course.

ZBC News reports that Mukarakate has vast experience in corporate governance, having served in organisations such as Air Zimbabwe and the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ).
